Church of the Ascension
Blackheath

We are a church where people who want to get involved can. We believe our faith leads us to get involved with the community around us and with issues in the wider world. This is why you will see a number of people heavily involved on the two large council estates in our parish – Heathside and Lethbridge in Lewisham. And is why you will see us asking for donations to support a wide variety of projects and organisations overseas.

We are also part of a ‘team’ – where we have joined forces with two other churches in Deptford to focus on how best we can serve the local areas. So now we are officially linked with Holy Trinity on Bennett Grove. We have an historical building, an ancient faith but we are not stuck in the past. We like to think of ourselves as outward looking and inclusive and our faith draws upon centuries of wisdom and practice.

Church is not just about the bricks and the windows – or even about Sundays – but it is a community that seeks to live out one simple aim – to love God and to love our neighbour.

Why don’t you join us?
